NVQ 2 WOOD OCCUPATIONS
Entry Requirements
Site experience as a carpenter and joiner or bench joiner.

Registration Requirements:
In order to obtain NVQ's within construction each candidate will be registered with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) £75 which includes all unit fees.
Description
NVQ Level 2 is for either new entrants to the industry or mature applicants working within the construction Industry wishing to become trade qualified.
Course Content
NVQ Level 2 has six unit/modules plus Health and Safety and knowledge examinations.

Health and Safety
All candidates taking either LV2 or LV3 will need to pass a Health and Safety test at BCOT.
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
After registration you will be issued with a course assessment and evidence record book. This book is used to gather evidence of practical ability from the work place (this evidence is mandatory). In addition to this book each unit has written test.
Progression
Carpentry and joinery level 3 (ACA or NVQ).
Materials
- A comprehensive reading list can be supplied upon request. The recommended books cost approximately £60 (all books can be borrowed from the college and local libraries).
- Protective footwear is not supplied but expected to be worn whilst working within the workshops.
- A4 paper, folder, common stationery and scale rule.
- Constant supply of pencils.
- All tools and materials are supplied.
