NVQ 3 ACCOUNTING AAT DISTANCE LEARNING
Entry Requirements
You have an automatic entry onto the course if
you have NVQ2 Accounting (Distance Learning). Students must have previous
distance learning experience and have acceptance agreed with the Sector
Manager in advance of enrolment.

Students must register with
the AAT and pay their fees directly to the AAT. Our centre number is
AH0284.
Description
This course enables candidates to obtain
NVQ Level 3 through the Association of Accounting Technicians professional
qualification at Intermediate Stage. Study is by distance learning using
internet study guides and text books. Students must attend BCOT to sit
skills tests.
Course Content
Unit 5 Financial Accounting

Maintain records for fixed assets
- Collate and prepare information,
including year end adjustments for the preparation of trial balances

Prepare the final accounts for sole traders and partnerships
Unit 6
Management Accounting
- Record direct costs and revenue information

Calculate and redistribute overhead costs
- Prepare estimates of costs
and revenues eg Break even analysis
Unit 7 Preparing Reports and
Returns
- Use ratios and performance indicators to analyse information

Prepare reports and returns for management information
- Identify,
collate and prepare reports for external agencies
- Prepare VAT returns
Unit
21 Working with Computers including spreadsheets and word processing.
Evidence is required to underpin skills in units 5, 6 and 7
Unit 22
Monitoring working environment to ensure it meets health, safety, security
and effective working conditions
(Units 21 and 22 completed at NVQ
2 are transferable to NVQ 3)
Non-accounting units competent at
level 2 are transferable to level 3.
Where a course is aimed towards an
assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for
the qualification.
Method of Assessment
All units: A skill
based cast study or work place evidence, plus a 3 hour external exam for
units 5 and 6.

course could lead to direct entry on to NVQ Level 4 Accounting
