What will I study?
This qualification will anable students to work on a range or practical and theoretical Beauty Therapy skills and real work activities.

How can I progress?
Students can progress to the Certificate in Technical Salon Management (Level 4). Good employment / promotion prospects or holistic therapist route.

What will I need to qualify for this course?
Potential students must possess relevant industrial experience, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. A formal interview will be required as well as successful completion of a skills test. Students will be expected to provide a Beauty Therapy kit & salon wear and have a good standard of hygiene.

Course Structure
The new Beauty Therapy qualification at Level 3 is an 8 unit award containing 7 mandatory units and 1 optional unit. In order to gain a full NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy these units will be studied; *Ensure your own actions reduce the risk to Health and Safety, *Promote additional products or services to clients, *Contribute to the financial effectiveness of the business, *Epilate the hair follicle using diathermy, galvanic and blend techniques, *Provide head and body massage treatments, *Improve body condition using electro-therapy, *Microdermoabrasion, *Improve facial skin condition using electro-therapy. A portfolio of evidence will be produced by students. Good communication skills are essential and a minimum of 90% attendance is required.
