NVQ 3 in Children's Care Learning and Development

Course summary:
It is a work based course which is a roll on roll off programme where competence is assessed in the workplace. Attendance at workshops is required to allow candidates to acquire knowledge evidence

Course content:
5 Mandatory Units
CCLD 301 Develop and promote positive relationships
CCLD 302 Develop and maintain a healthy, safe and secure
environment for children.
CCLD 303 Promote children's development
CCLD 304 Reflect on and develop practice
CCLD 305 Protect and promote children's rights

4 Optional Units

Assessment procedure:
Competence is assessed in the workplace.

Qualifications achieved:
NVQ in Childcare Learning and Development at Level 3.

Progression opportunities:
A Level 3 award allows the candidate to work unsupervised, again in a setting with children from 0 - 16 years.

Please note: NVQ's are not widely recognised by Universities in their entrance requirements - if you intend to further your studies to this level the college offers a BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning & Development which is a full time 2 year programme.
