NVQ 3 DISTRIBUTION, WAREHOUSING AND STORAGE OPERATIONS OCR
Entry Requirements
These NVQs are work-based qualifications and are
suitable for those who undertake warehousing and distribution related
activities. They are open to candidates of either gender and there are no
entry barriers on grounds of race, creed or previous academic attainment
or learning. You must however be working in a warehousing environment.
A
personal skill scan, conducted by our staff, will ensure that your current
job role lends itself to the demands of the National Standards at the
preferred level.
This NVQ is designed to reflect the work of
warehousing and distribution staff across a wide range of industries and
types of organisation and is for those who are working with a significant
degree of autonomy and personal responsibility. For example a supervisory
or team leading role.
Description
You will be allocated a
personal assessor and supplied with all the necessary reading and
assessment material. Your assessor will provide you with personal tutorial
support at pre-arranged times and you will also be assessed in the
workplace via a variety of assessment methods, including observation,
witness testimonies and professional discussion.
Course Content
To
achieve a full award at Level 3 candidates must complete eight units in
total; two mandatory units and six optional units.
The mandatory
units are:
Contribute to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace
Develop
and maintain productive working relationships
The optional units
may be chosen from three groups 1-3. A full list of optional units is
available on request. Listed below is a sample
Group 1: Stock management
Organise
the receipt and storage of goods
Audit stock levels and stock
inventories
Maintain systems and facilities for distributing stock
Group
2: Customer services
Organise, deliver and maintain reliable customer
service
Improve the customer relationship
Monitor and solve customer
service problems
Group 3: Organisational effectiveness
Contribute to
the continuous improvement of operations
Plan, monitor and adjust
staffing levels and schedules
Contribute to the selection of personnel
for activities
Develop and maintain productive working relationships
with those for whom you have responsibility
Where a course is aimed
towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will
enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Assessment
is by production of a personal portfolio of evidence demonstrating
understanding and application of the NVQ 3 performance criteria.
