NVQ 3 NAIL SERVICES
Entry Requirements
Students must have previously completed NVQ
Level 2 Nails or Beauty Therapy.
Description
This is a one
year course aimed at students 17 years and over and mature students with
an interest in Nail Technology. Candidates will gain competence to a
professional level in NVQ Level 3 Nail Services.
Course Content

Health and safety
- Financial effectiveness of the business
-
Promoting effectiveness of the business
- Artificial nail systems (gel,
acrylic and wraps)
- Maintenance and repair of the artificial nail

Plan, design and provide nail art treatments
- Self tan treatments (1
day of additional training is also required to achieve this unit)

Design and Create images incorporating Nail Art. To gain this unit,
competition work must be carried out with planning and application. You
must be prepared to complete this planning from home to enable completion
of this unit.
It is expected that you attend the college hair, beauty
and nails competitions for completion of this unit.
There will be
additional time needed for exams at a different time to that of the course.
Where
a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that
all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Continuous
assessment in both theory and practical aspects of Nail Services.
Progression
Demonstrate
competence in all aspects of Nail Services contained in NVQ Level 3.
Demonstrate the underpinning knowledge.

professional tool kit (available on request through the college)
