NVQ 3 UNIT IN FEMALE INTIMATE WAXING Entry Requirements
- Candidates must be over 18 years of age
- Candidates must be qualified for 2 years in Level 2 waxing or equivalent
- Candidates must have been waxing commercially for the last 2 years (either in a salon or mobile)
- A practical 'Skills Scan' will be performed on first day of course
- Candidates must receive intimate waxing services and have the areas ready for treatment first day of the course
- Minimum of 4 models required for assessment purposes, models must be over the age of 18 and be in full consent (where candidates need assistance, the college may be able to source a model but cannot guarantee)
- Please note there is a charge of £10 per intimate waxing service for models
- Where a model is contra-indicated, another model must be provided by the candidate
- Hot waxing experience an advantage
- APL for other related course considered ie 1 day Brazilian course etc and relevant Health & Safety (NVQ unit G1 for example)
Description
An advanced waxing course to enable candidates to remove hair from female clients' intimate areas using various waxing techniques.
Course Content
- This is a practical course with theoretical studies
- The course enables the candidate to show practical competency in Brazilian, Playboy, Hollywood and shaping and theoretical knowledge in related services
- Relevant Health and Safety
Where a course is aimed towards an assessment/examination, it is expected that all students will enter for the qualification.
Method of Assessment
Assessment in both practical and theoretical aspects of intimate waxing.
Written assessments in related anatomy and physiology and intimate waxing.
Home study for all theoretical aspects of the course (Allow minimum 1-2 hours a week for homework)

You will need to practise your treatments in own time to ensure practical competence is achieved for assessments.
Progression
NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy, NVQ Level 3 Nail Services, ITEC Holistic Massage, VTCT Indian Head massage.
Materials
Candidate must provide own salon wear ie dress, tunic, trousers.
Shoes must be fully enclosed and socks/tights to be worn appropriately.
All to be worn on first day of course.
Candidates must provide tweezers.
