To enter this programme you will need to have successfully achieved NVQ Level 1 Amenity Horticulture or have a range of skills and knowledge from experience within the horticultural industry.

Who is the programme for? This programme is for anyone who wishes to gain qualfications which will enable them to work in areas such as landscaping, parks and gardens, sports turf or retail areas such as nurseries and garden centres.
What will I study? There are two core modules which you must study, together with five optional modules dependent upon the route you wish to follow. Entry to the Programme?
How is it assessed? Assessments are continuous and are undertaken in such a way that students are allowed to work at their own pace. There are no written examinations at the end of the programme as it is practically based.
Future prospects? On completion of this programme you could progress onto the NVQ Levels 3 and 4. Alternatively, you could take advantage of the many Horticultural employment opportunities in Amenity Horticulture within parks, sports grounds, golf courses and aboriculture.
When will the programme start?
How long will it take? You can choose to study from one of the following:- * 2 and a half days per week for 36 weeks * 1 day per week for 72 weeks or * 2 evenings per week for 72 weeks
What about the Money? If you are under 19 on 31st August 2009 you will not have to pay tuition or registration fees. If you are over 19 years of age
How do I apply? Complete an application form and return it to Student Services, you will then be asked to attend College for an interview.
