Course Marketing Title
Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Performing Engineering Operations (Electronics).

Overview
If you have already completed Level 1 this course will improve your knowledge on key components used within Electronics. You will learn how to test and repair within the Electronic Maintenance unit by using different testing methods and introduce building Circuit Boards. You will also develop your CAD skills. This course provides a good foundation for your future career.

Entry Requirements
Three GCSE’s at grade D or above including maths and science. Level 1 Diploma in Engineering and Manufacture.

Course Duration
One year, full time

Skills and Benefits
You will learn the fundamental skills and knowledge common to all engineering practices, including health and safety requirements and communicating engineering information.

Mandatory Units
Working safely in an engineering environment Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively Using and communicating technical information

Optional Units
Wiring and testing electronic equipment and circuits Assembling and testing electronic circuits Maintaining electronic equipment and systems

Course Assessment
You will be continually assessed through observation, practical and written assessment techniques. There are only two assessment decisions possible; ‘You are competent’ or ‘You are not yet competent’. If you are not yet competent you will be provided with the opportunity to practice your skills further before you are re-assessed.

Progression
Level 3 90 Credit Diploma in Engineering or the Performing Engineering Operations at Level 2 forms a major component of the Engineering Apprenticeship Framework, so you could progress into the workplace.
