NVQ Hairdressing Level 1
NVQ Hairdressing Level 1   Which units to choose?   To achieve your Level 1 Hairdressing certificate you will need to pass a total of six units. You will have to pass five mandatory units, and one optional unit   Mandatory Units   Unit G1 Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health & safety
Unit G2 Assist with salon reception duties
Unit G3 Contribute to the development of effective working relationships
Unit H1 Shampoo and condition hair
Unit H5 Prepare for hairdressing services and maintain work area

  Unit H2 Assist with perming and colouring services
Unit H3 Assist with perming, relaxing and neutralizing services

How often do I need to attend?
If you are not working, you will usually spend two or three days a week at Myrrh. If you are already working in a salon, you will usually spend one day a week with us.

On Myrrh

Provider description
Myrrh Education and Training is a registered charity founded in 1993. Its mission is to provide training for those who have found it hard to find training elsewhere or who would benefit from training with Myrrh. Myrrh is based in south London and operates on three sites.

Most of the learners who come to Myrrh are adults. That means you often need to fit learning into a busy life. You may have part-time work and want hours to suit. You may need childcare or a course that runs between school hours. When you start, can agree an individual learning plan with attendance to suit you. We will work with you to sort out any practical problems.

Joining Myrrh will not be like going back to school. Our learners spend most of their time in practical settings like hairdressing salons, motor vehicle workshops and working kitchens. You can train to become a skilled craftsperson or a qualified carer, we can make it happen. Check out our range of courses.
