Who is this NVQ for?

The NVQ in Health and Social Care is considered to be the minimum qualification required by a care worker by the sector skills bodies.

This NVQ is the required qualification for 50 per cent of the workforce in care homes for older people as recommended in the National Minimum Standards from the Care Standards Act 2000.

To achieve the whole qualification at Level 2, you must prove ‘competence’ in four mandatory units and two option units.
You cannot take HSC213 and HSC214 or HSC218 and HSC219 in the same award.

HSC24 Ensure your own actions support the care, protection and wellbeing of individuals
