This level is designed for individuals who may work on their own without direct supervision and may have some supervisory responsibility or be involved within specialist tasks. To develop occupational competence within a health and social care setting and to develop the skills and knowledge needed at a supervisory level. This level is aimed at senior care workers, home care organisers and community support workers. It is also relevant for drugs and mental health workers.
What will I learn?
You will undertake 8 units. 4 of these units are mandatory, they include: * Communication * Health and Safety * Reflecting on, and developing your practice * Promoting choice and protecting individuals The other 4 units are optional and you choose the most relevant units to your work role. There are 105 to choose from.
How will I be assessed?
You will be observed through real work activities in your workplace and will produce a portfolio of evidence.
What can I do after the course?
NVQ Level 4 Health and Social Care. Also Diploma in Nursing or Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care.
Entry Requirement
You must work within a health and social care setting and be at least 19 years of age. This level is designed for individuals who may work on their own without direct supervision and may have some supervisory responsibility or be involved within specialist tasks. You will undertake an initial assessment in Literacy and Numeracy and support will be offered in these areas if needed. Your employer must be willing for your training to take place during working hours.
