NVQ Level 2 in Children's Care Learning and Development
For those starting childcare work, this NVQ qualifies an individual to work as a nursery nurse or classroom assistant.
The course involves study days one day per month - typically on a Saturday - comprising theoretical and practical input as well as observation in the workplace. Assessment is by workplace observations, carrying out practical tasks at work, answering questions and report writing.
NVQs are excellent work-based qualifications that provide evidence of competence in the workplace. They are available at various levels depending on your job.
The Apprenticeship in Children's Care Learning and Development includes:
- NVQ Level 2 in Children's Care Learning and Development.
- A Technical Certificate - the Level 2 BTEC Certificate in Children's Care Learning and Development.
- Key Skills in Communication and Application of Number at Level 1. This will involve multiple choice tests in Communication and Maths.
- 12 hour paediatric first aid course.
- Learning about Employment Rights and Responsibilities.
