NVQ Level 2 Hairdressing

This is a creative course offering practical hands on experience in Hairdressing with teaching taking place in our state-of-the art commercial salon.

What will I study?
The course examines the structure of hair and skin in detail as well as the chemistry of the products used by Hairdressers. It should also be noted that there is a large amount of science involved in this course.
It also offers hands on experience in:
· Cutting
· Perming
· Colouring
· Blow Drying
· Setting
The salon operates on a commercial basis and mirrors the industry; therefore students will be assessed not only in aspects of Hairdressing but also on punctuality and reliability.
Students will also have the opportunity to gain a number of additional qualifications to boost their career prospects; these include manicure, advanced nail techniques and cosmetic make-up.

What next?
With additional qualifications opportunities exist to work as a Product Manufacturer Technician, a Sales Representative, a Trainer or Assessor, and also within the fields of trichology, television and theatre.

NB: Students with low GCSE results may be required to start the NVQ Level 1 Hairdressing before progressing on to NVQ Level 2.
