It explores direct care, where the focus is hands-on care, (doing things for clients) enablement care and development and maintenance of the clients independence (supporting and enabling clients to do things for themselves).

Depending on the module selection, learners will be able to demonstrate that they can:

Understand the principles of care
Follow the policies and procedures of your organisation
Apply safe working practices
Identify the legislation that covers care work and protects those in care
Understand what is meant by equality and discrimination.
Understand the rights to care, complaint procedures, confidentiality & privacy.
Deliver an excellent service in the care environment.
