A level 2 course which will train students to work on a variety of Equine yards according to their own interests and specialities but also providing access to Diploma and Degree level courses if interested. Suitable for: Anyone with a fair riding ability and some practical experience, perhaps with experience of their own horses and ponies.

NVQ Level 2 in Horse Care and Riding
This course is continuously assessed in this centre and there are no formal exams.
Units are as follows
- 201 Prepare and clean stables
- 202 Maintain the health and well being of horses
- 203 Prepare Horses for use
- 204 Prepare and maintain horses on grazing land
- 205 Prepare and provide non ridden exercise and aftercare
- 206 Load and unload horses under supervision
- 207 Ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
- 208 maintain effective working relationships
- 212 Exercise horses under supervision
Students on this course will also undertake visits to local equestrician specialisms as part of this course e.g. a Dressage Yard, western training, Stud etc
