NVQ Level 2 in Tiling

Our NVQ level 2 in tiling gives you your level 2 qualification but in only 20 weeks.  We start hard and work hard for the full 20 weeks. Courses run from 9.00am till 5.00pm and involve intense practical training within one of our two 20,000 thousand square feet training facilities and within that 20 week programme you will spend some time off site, within a real work environment where you will be assessed in your new skills. On completion of this course you will find this qualification will pay for itself almost immediately
 
This course also provides the successful candidates with a CSCS card which is a requirement these days for working on sites.
NVQ's are practical, competence based courses where you will be required to build up a portfolio of evidence of your achievements. The following units are what you will be studying on your training course:
 

 VR 01   Conform to general workplace safety

VR 02   Conform to Efficient  Work Practices

VR 03   Move and Handle Resources

VR 62   Prepare background surfaces for plasterwork

VR 66   Produce internal solid plastering finishes

VR 67   Produce External solid render finishes

VR 65   Apply finishing plaster to background surfaces

VR 68   Install direct bond dry linings

VR 69   Lat sand and cement screeds

VR 70   Apply projection plaster and maintain equipment

VR 71   Install mechanically fixed plasterboard

Some of these units are optional and can be chosen at the point of registration but you can discuss this with your trainer.
 
The way that the course works is that you have to prove to the assessor that you are competent in the various units of study, all of you assessments wil be done in a real working environment and feedback will be given as to the good and bad parts of the assessment.  Where any weaknesses have been identified in your performance you will be given advice about how to improve and targets set for the next observation. Because of this the duration of the course will be down to how good your work is, how much outside work you have to do and how quickly you make changes from the feedback that you have been given.
 
What also sets us apart from other training centres is that we find you the outside work that is needed to complete the qualification.  The majority of this work is done in peoples houses and community work.
