Course Content: This programme is ideal for students consider themselves to be sociable and artistic with an interest in fashion and following fashion trends. It will prepare you for a career in the nail industry within a salon. The units covered are listed below and Level 2 allows you to learn the foundation skills required to becoming a nail technician. Learners would normally be expected to progress to Level 3 standard.

During the course you will cover a variety of topics, covering the professional skills necessary for practising Nail Technology. You will complete modules in the following areas:

· Personal development

· Manicure

· Pedicure

· Health & Safety

· Reception Skills

· Anatomy and Physiology

· Basic Nail Extensions; and maintenance procedures

· Nail Art

· Promoting products and services

Due to a recent increase in demand for Nail Technicians, people in this occupation are seen as professional s in their own right.

Assessment will be carried out in a variety of methods, including observation of practical work, written questions, projects and building a portfolio of work. During the year you will cover Key Skills (Literacy, Numeracy and I.T.)

Course Format: Achievement is based on the ability to complete a number of assignments and achieving the appropriate level in practical skills and competences.
