NVQ qualifications are the national standard for crafts people. To obtain the NVQ you must be employed in the construction industry. These qualifications are required for the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). This course is designed for those wishing to gain a qualification in any of the Wood or Timber Trades including Carpentry, Joinery, Shopfitting or Maintenance.

This course is designed for those wishing to gain a qualification in any of the Wood or Timber Trades including Carpentry, Joinery, Shopfitting or Maintenance Operations.
You will have to demonstrate competent performance in the workplace although you may attend college to "top-up" or practice elements of your trade.
Assessment is mainly by practical demonstration of skills in the workplace. You will need to keep a portfolio of evidence as you work towards your qualification.
