· Course Overview: · This qualification focuses on the skills and knowledge required to manage an adult care service. Specialisms include services for older people, people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, young adults, the terminally ill, and people with mental health problems. This award is based on continuous achievement and there is no formal test. To obtain the full award you need to complete eight units that are related to the management of care. There is some classroom based knowledge, this is advised and not mandatory as training can be given in the community. An assessor will be designated to visit you in your place of work and to observe you in your practice, this evidence will form a part of your award. There are four mandatory units and four optional units for you to complete. Manage and develop yourself and your workforce within care services Lead and manage a provision of care that respects, protects and promotes the rights and responsibilities of people Develop and maintain systems and practices to manage risks and comply with health and safety legislation Lead and manage effective commtions that promotes positive outcomes for individuals The course is designed for the role of the manager of the provision. You will be responsible for the whole provision including supervisions, team meetings, implementation of policy and procedure, the care delivered to your clients and auditing of all records and reports. The course looks at the productive management of a team that promotes successful care delivered by your service to the individual. Knowledge of staff management and of the client base you are dealing with is highlighted throughout this course.
