Both employers and employees have a legal responsibility to look after health and safety at work together. This NCFE Level 2 Occupational Health and Safety course is suitable for learners wishing to develop knowledge to prepare them for employment, or for learners who are already in employment and wish to study the programme as part of their own continuous professional development.

The course covers risk assessments in relation to display screen equipment (DSE), the control of hazardous substances and safe manual handling. It enables learners to develop knowledge of how to respond appropriately to accidents and incidents in the workplace and also looks at the principles and practice of fire management at work and the role of the nominated fire warden.

On completion of this course, learners will have a sound understanding of the principles of health and safety and their role in keeping the workplace safe.

COURSE OVERVIEW

How is the course structured?
The NCFE Level 2 Occupational Health and Safety course is divided into five units:

Unit 1: Health and safety in the workplace
In this unit, learners will understand the roles and responsibilities for health, safety and welfare in the workplace, and will look at how risk assessment contributes to health and safety and identify how to control risks.

Unit 2: Fire safety principles
Learners will understand the hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace, and how to control and reduce these risks.

Unit 3: DSE risk assessment
This unit covers the importance of Display Screen Equipment (DSE) risk assessments and the principles of controlling risks to health from workstation design and use.

Unit 4: COSHH risk assessment
Learners will understand the importance of controlling substances hazardous to health, as well as learning about the main types of hazardous substances that are relevant to the workplace.

Unit 5: Manual handling safety at work
In this unit, learners will understand the reasons for safe handling and how manual handling risk assessments contribute to health and safety.

Course Assessments

This course is marked through a process of continuous assessment guided by your tutor following NCFE guidelines. This means that your qualification will be awarded according to your performance on assessments rather than by taking an exam.

Upon verification of the activities, exercises and assignments, a certificate of achievement will be awarded by the national awarding organisation NCFE, as confirmation that your written work has met all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for the programme.

Course Fees

Our aim is to provide you with the best deal available, therefore any registration fee, certification fee and full tutor support is included in the course price for you. The enrolment fee for the Level 2 Occupational Health and Safety home study course is £412.5, though for a limited time we are offering you the opportunity to pay only £330 which is a 20% discount if you enrol online and pay in full.

You can also opt for our Easy Payment Plan and enrol online today by paying a deposit of £82.5 and then 4 equal payments of £82.5 per month. The first instalment is paid about a month after you receive your course.

A registration fee of £41.00 is due within four weeks of enrolment if you wish to receive an NCFE certificate on successful completion of your course.

Please note that certificates are issued 3 times per year.
