The course requires 3 days attendance at college from 9am to 4.30pm. The study methods include practical workshops, formal classroom sessions, student centered learning and private study.

Who the Course is For:
This entry level course is designed for young people who wish to gain the necessary skills required to progress onto a construction award programme and eventually work as a professional painter and decorator.
Assessment:
This course incorporates continuous assessment, covering practical activities, written work and oral tests.

By the accumulation of practical skills and associated knowledge, students can gain Units of Competence towards the OCNW preperation for employment in construction industries award.
Progression onto a Construction Diploma Level 1 in Painting and Decorating.

Painting and Decorating - access equipment, preperation of surfaces, application of coatings, basic paper hanging and basic decorative effects
Manual Handling - lifting and moving techniques
Personal Work Skills - PPE, conduct and work skills
Step up to English and Maths - classes to improve basic skills
