My boy attended the Off to Uni course last week. What a success! I have never seen Ben so excited and enthused about 5 days! He even enjoyed the cake baking on Day 1 which he had reservations about. He learnt so much and simply had so much fun clearly all thanks to Richard and Diana who he could not stop talking about and obviously you who manages the whole thing. It was such a success he only wishes he had been doing 2 weeks. That says it all. A huge thank you to you all from a thrilled son and appreciative mother.

Really great evening Diana gave us a fantastic demonstration which made cooking look incredibly easy and even inspired a total novice to have a go. She and her son, then got us working which was a great way to learn new skills and we even managed to cook something, certainly the best meal "I’ve ever cooked” which was then enjoyed by all.

Diana Horsford
Owner & Teacher
Diana is a dynamic and innovative teacher who brings an imaginative spark to the art of cookery. Starting off as a chalet chef, Diana climbed the rungs to founding her own specialist food ventures. She infamously taught at The Grange Cookery School for seven years before The Avenue. As the absolute driving force of the kitchen, this Mother Duck engages and educates her students with undying character and warmth. With a knack for trailblazing twists on classical dishes, Diana simply loves food and is identified for her delectable culinary creations that will amuse and delight your palette
Richard Horsford
Owner & Teacher
Richard is Diana’s son, making The Avenue very much a family affair. His previous experience has included Chalet Hosting, prestigious Corporate Events and working as a chef in the South of France. Richard is a self-confessed Foodie, with an interest in modern cooking techniques. His flair for experimental cookery will certainly broaden your culinary horizons. Working extremely hard to share his enthusiasm with the students and push out the traditional boundaries, he is the youth and energy in the Kitchen.
Course programme
The hands-on course has been designed for beginners, and will guide you through traditional recipes and techniques. We emphasise cooking on a budget for this class, so you can budget less of that student loan on food, and more of the fun parts!
On Thurday, there is even the oppurtunity to invite your friends and family to the kitchen for the now infamous Avenue party, so you can show-off your new cookery and hosting skills!
