Course programme

In addition to the one day course, many more of childhood illness and conditions are covered. Where an employer's assessment for First Aid needs identifies that a First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement for an employer is to appoint an individual to take charge of First Aid arrangements.

This includes looking after the equipment and facilities and calling the
Emergency Services when required. Arrangements should always be
made for this Appointed Person to undertake these duties at all times
when people are at work. In the absence of the First Aider,
employers must appoint a person for this purpose.

Duration:

A minimum of 12 hours consisting of practical and theory work. Ideally this
course should run over 2 consecutive days, but we have the
flexibility to accommodate your specific needs, if you do so require.

Syllabus:

A wide range of subjects is covered including:

  • Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Head injuries
  • Dealing with an unconscious casualty

  • Bites & Stings

Although there is no formal assessment, the instructor will assess each
individual ongoing throughout the course. This qualification is valid for 3 years.

A maximum of 16 delegates can be accommodated on this course,
