Course structure

The course is taught in 11 three-hour sessions and is directly linked to the Oracle certification exam in Java Business Component Development as follows:

  • Java EE technology stack for enterprise components development for the Internet and the Web
  • Java servlets components in Java EE applications
  • Java Server Pages components in Java EE applications
  • Implementing MVC (Model View Controller) design pattern using JSP, servlets and JSF
  • EJB framework
  • Implementing Synchronous EJB components
  • Persistence and Transactions in Java EE applications
  • Implementing Messaging EJB components
  • SOA and Web Services
  • Implementing REST and SOAP-based Web services
  • Security in Java EE Applications

Each session includes 1.5 hours lecturing and 1.5 hours hands-on experience for developing enterprise applications using Eclipse IDE and Glassfish Java EE Server.
