Why PADI Rescue Diver?
The Rescue Diver course in an exciting and involving course that is designed
to teach you the basics of dealing with distress situations in the diving
environment. It teaches you how to deal with the serious nature of
accident prevention and management. You are not how to deal with accident
situations 'text book' style, as real life situations are rarely develop
in this way. Instead you are taught a comprehensive and diverse range of
skills that that can be applied to manage any emergency scenario. The
course is demanding, but serious fun!!

To receive certification as a PADI Rescue Diver, you must also have
completed a sanctioned CPR and First Aid course in the last 24 months.
Please ask for more information on the Emergency First Response course
that can be completed in conjunction with your Rescue Diver
qualification
What will I do?
We aim as be as flexible as possible in the scheduling of this course. You
will need to complete two academic sessions, one pool (or confined water)
session, and two days of open water work. In this time you learn about
accident prevention, diving first aid, equipment function, accident
management, search & recovery, surface resuscitation. All this culminates
in two full-on accident scenarios for you to assess and manage.
The
courses currently scheduled do not all follow the same format. As a
result, the courses may vary in duration. Please take a look at the
timetable for the course you are interested in.
What previous experience do I need?
Anyone wishing to enrol on the Rescue Diver Course must be at least an
Advanced Open Water Diver (or an equivalent qualification from another
training agency) with at least 20 logged dives.

What's next?
Upon successful completion of all segments of your Rescue Diver Course, you
will have taken an important step to become a diving professional. Beyond
Rescue Diver is the prestigious Divemaster qualification - the first in a
series of professionally recognised certifications.
Alternatively you
can proceed to Master Scuba Diver level - the highest possible
non-professional qualification that PADI offers.
