Course Details

The Paediatric First Aid course is a requirement for anyone working with children. This would include Daycare centers and Schools. When dealing with young casualties it is essential to know how signs and symptoms can vary from an adult, and how to perform the child and baby specific First Aid procedures. The Paediatric First Aid course will cover a wide range of subjects that will enable you to assist a child, or a baby, in almost any emergency situation until professional help arrives.

Course Objectives:

By the end of the course students will be able to do the following:

- Discuss the role of a First Aider in childcare
- Discuss and demonstrate the Primary Survey
- Discuss and demonstrate the Recovery Position
- Discuss and demonstrate CPR - Child and Baby
- Discuss and demonstrate bleeding management
- Discuss and demonstrate Choking procedures - Child and Baby
- Discuss and demonstrate the treatment for Shock
