About this course

This will help Nannies to develop their knowledge of basic life support and how to deal with emergencies for children 0-8 years. Nannies can use this certificate to enable them to register onto the voluntary childcare register and parents can then use childcare vouchers for their services.

A Certificate lasting three years in Paediatric First Aid (covering OfSted recommended subjects)

This course is comprehensive yet informal and many of the past participants mentioned that they were glad that the courses are held at weekends as this Sundays as this doesn't interfere with their working week. There are no parking restrictions and the venue is clkose to good train, tube and bus links. Lunch is also provided and participants are given a free Paediatric First Aid Handbook and other handouts.

For over 20 years Susan has worked with people within a therapeutic environment. For the last 12 years Susan worked directly with children, young people and parents in a Social Care setting. Susan has qualifications in Counselling, Life Coaching, Social Care and Teaching.

Susan is DBS checked and an insured practitioner through Association of First Aiders. The Balm First Aid provides empowering courses and services for parents, grandparents, groups and carers and is run by Susan Patterson-Smith who has been involved in the Training & Development Field for many years. Susan is experienced, mature and enthusiastic about working with families as a whole, having previously worked for the Family Welfare Association, Social Services and Parent line Plus.
