Painter and Decorator Course

On completion of the one day course the candidate will be able to:-

* Eliminate tip blockages and other problems
* Reduce overspray and "fogging"
* Understand simple flushing processes to avoid future breakdowns
* Follow basic fault finding procedures to solve problems
* Perform routine equipment maintenance and avoid expensive repairs
* Understand safety and implement safety procedures
* Be confident in making use of extension lances and power rollers
* Improve productivity and reduce waste materials

Airless spray theory

* Material characteristics Atomisation
* Spray tips and their function
* Spray guns
* Injection injury
* Spray technique
* Hose and fittings
* Avoiding static sparks
* Double acting pumps
* Power supplies
* Filtration
* Eliminating tip blockages
* Pressure setting
* Fault diagnosis

Is there a written test on completion of the course?
There are written tests following each of the theory sessions. However they comprise of "ticking" boxes and does not involve large amounts of written work. The tests monitor course tutor performance and assess participant understanding.

Will I need to take notes during the theory session?
You can if you wish to take notes but it is not necessary as all course notes are provided to all participants to keep for reference. The couses are designed to include a large amount of information in one day and taking notes may well slow the process down.

How long does the training course last?

* The training course takes one day to complete
* You need to arrive at the training venue at 9.00am prompt
* The training course will finish at 5.00pm
* Lunch (12.30pm - 1.00pm)
