Painting and Decorating NVQ Level II (subject to employment status

This two year programme will follow the recognised CITB/NVQ syllabus in painting and decorating and consists of eight units. It provides the skills training and underpinning knowledge you need in order to become industry recognised as a painter and decoratorEntry RequirementsNo formal qualifications are required but you will be asked to attend an interview and be employed within the craft trade.
Course Content
NVQ Level II is made up of eight units. Topics covered are:-
·How to work with platforms
·Preparing work areas and surfaces
·Paint and wallpaper application techniques
·Basic decorative techniques (stencilling, ragrolling, marbling and graining)
·Basic skills of communication, numeracy and IT

How will I be assessed?
Continuous practical and written assessments.
Students will produce a portfolio of evidence which will demonstrate ability and understanding of each unit.

Painting and Decorating NVQ Level II Certificate gained on successful completion of this course.

As well as achieving competence in all units you will be required to undertake a health and safety test.
