The operations environment
Cloned images, MVS and LPAR names and the use of system symbols; console configurations in a Sysplex; Master Console considerations; using the SYSCONS; using EMCS consoles; new command facilitites; Command Scope; Command Routing; system groups and command prefixes; CMDSYS and MSCOPE; Command flow; Intro to the Display XCF and SETXCF commands; the System Logger and the OPERLOG and LOGREC environments.


Sysplex operations
Setting the Sysplex timer; Sysplex parameters and the IPL process in a Sysplex; IPLing to initialize the Sysplex; I PLing into a running Sysplex; removing a system from the Sysplex; shutting down the Sysplex; re-initialising the Sysplex; managing and reconfiguring the Sysplex environment; path reconfiguration; switching couple datasets (why and how); switching CFRM policies; removing and re-instating a coupling facility; displaying CF resources; the WLM and Logger environments.


IPL problem determination
An introduction to the underlying cause of most IPL problems in the syplex and the real options available to deal with them, followed by some actual examples.


Runtime problem determination
An overview of the major types of problem and how to avoid them, then how to recognize and deal with each in turn; signalling connectivity failures; System Status Update Missing conditions; using the Sysplex Failure Manager; SFM Policies and options; SFM''s other effects; managing the SFM environment; Sysplex Timer problems and how to deal with them; Couple Dataset problems; CF environment failures; ARM, its policies and defaults; operating within an ARM-enabled environment.
