Course aims:
The course provide the student with a introduction to 3D Max covering aspects of Polygon modeling, spline modeling, and sub division modeling. It will also include texturing, lighting, animating and rendering within the software package. The course will lead students through their learning via a series of task based activities. Through creating a basic understanding of these principles, it will allow students to develop practical skills in 3D Modeling and animation techniques using industry standard software.

  • working with standard primitive objects
  • all basic aspects of modelling tools
  • an introduction to kinematics
  • an introduction to materials and effective use of lighting techniques
  • professional approaches to general 3D modelling practices

Facilities for students:
Students will be based at our City College Main Campus where we have extensive and excellent facilities for practical and theory work.
These include: state of the art Windows PCs and industry level software.

Tutors:
Tutors assigned to this course will have experience in teaching a range of modelling software and many of them work in the digital media design industries.
