Overview of the Evidence Requirements

You will:
Complete a detailed rationale explaining how verification is conducted at your centre making specific reference to centre policies
Recruit and induct a team of suitably qualified and experienced assessors
Perform training needs interviews with assessors and ensure development activities take place
Observe the assessment team conducting assessments at least twice
Be observed by the awarding bodys external verifier
Compile a portfolio of sample assessment & verification documentation used at your centre
Hold standardisation activities, including assessment team meetings
Create and implement an effective sampling strategy
Compile a portfolio of documentation required for the EV visit
Lead a professional discussion with your assessor
Compile a portfolio containing all the evidence required for the award

How is the Qualification Achieved ?
Successful completion is through the compilation of a portfolio of evidence, most of which will arise naturally through your work in assessment and verification. You will need to establish (if not already in place), maintain and monitor a quality system and sampling strategy which covers the work of at least 2 assessors. Within this role you will manage at least one EV visit. During one EV visit you will present some candidates work for summative external verification and at some stage have an observation conducted by your own EV. Further support will be offered through teaching sessions at the college, tutorials and access to the comprehensive Learning & Development WebPages on the college intranet.

On Successful Completion of this Course
You will need this qualification if you are expecting to be involved in verifying NVQs. This unit is also an optional component of the Learning & Development NVQ Level 4 Become a member of the Institute of Assessors and Verifiers (IAV)
