About this course

A Level 2 qualification e .g. 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, BTEC First Diploma, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent. Applicants should hold the AAT NVQ II in Accounting or an A Level in Accounting, or qualify via the 'Mature Entrant Route' (aged 21 or over with at least four years relevant experience). All applicants must be proficient in double-entry bookkeeping.

AAT Intermediate Level 3 NVQ
The AAT Intermediate NVQ Level 3 in Accounting builds upon the foundation of skills and knowledge provided by the NVQ Level II.

Course Content:
The aim of this course is to cover the unit specifications as designed by the Lead Body for Accounting and AAT. The course consists of the following units:

  • Maintaining financial records and preparing accounts
  • Recording and evaluating costs and revenues
  • Preparing reports and returns
  • Working with computers

  • Contribute to the maintenance of a healthy, safe and productive environment

    Entry Requirements:

  • A Level 2 qualification e

    Entry Process:
    There is no interview required unless requested.

    Assessment:
    By three methods: a) examinations set and marked by AAT held in December and June; b) devolved assessments, prepared simulations, college assignments, workplace evidence and case studies; c) portfolio preparation.

    Progression Routes:
    Upon completion of Intermediate NVQ Level II you can progress to AAT Accounting Technician NVQ Level IV.

    Career Options:
    The full AAT Accounting Qualification opens many doors, from chartered accountancy to starting your own business. It also improves promotion prospects and recognition in your workplace with a respected qualification to demonstrate your ability.
