Applicants should have successfully completed the ABC Concepts in Counselling Certificate or equivalent, and will also need to have an informal interview with the course tutor.

Method of Assessment
1. Internal assessment consists of three essays:-

a) Professional Issues/Ethical Practice

b) Counselling Theory

c) Personal Development

2. A weekly reflective journal

3. 80% attendance

External assessment consists of a 30 minute tape-recorded skills session and a case study of 1700 - 2000 words.

Progression

On successful completion of this course, students may progress onto the Level 4 Diploma in Counselling.
