Do you want to go to University but lack the necessary qualifications? An Access to Higher Education course could be for you. Access to Higher Education courses are a flexible programme for adults aged 19 and over. Successful students achieve an Access to Higher Education Diploma that is recognised by the Department for Education and Skills as an entrance qualification to any University in the UK. Abingdon and Witney College has an agreement with Oxford Brookes which means that the University gives special consideration to local Access to Higher Education students. All Access to Higher Education courses have pre-requisites, require interviews and start in September.

Course description
You will study Human Biology, Psychological and Sociological Aspects of Health Care and Chemistry. You will also study use of IT, skills needed for effective study and English & Maths (if you don't already have GCSE/O Level equivalent) and transferable skills. You will be given tutorial guidance to support your university application. You must be over 19, have few formal qualifications but want to go onto study a health care degree or diploma course at Higher Education. You will need to pass a literacy and numeracy assessment at interview. This course is offered full or part-time, students go on to study a range of health care related degrees.
