The aim of this course is to give mature learners a second chance at education by brushing up their academic skills in preparation for studying at a higher level. The course also enables students to develop confidence, self-esteem and enhance their interpersonal skills. It is a level 2 course and is directly linked to the Access to HE pathways with guaranteed progression upon successful.

All Learners will need to complete an application and interview prior to enrolling including an initial assessment in numeracy and literacy.
Achievement at Level 1 in each of these is desirable for entry onto the Pre Access Progression Diploma.

Course Description
The aim of this course is to give mature learners a second chance at education by brushing up their academic skills in preparation for studying at a higher level. The course also enables students to develop confidence, self-esteem and enhance their interpersonal skills.
It is a level 2 course and is directly linked to the Access to HE pathways with guaranteed progression upon successful completion of either the Diploma or the Certificate (when English is a compulsory component of the final achievement). There are no formal examinations as assessment is continuous throughout the course.
Course Structure
The course is delivered at the Hub. It is normally a 16 week course delivered over either 4 days 9.30 - 3.30 or 2 days 9.30 - 6.30 (subject to change)
