Course Overview This is a professional qualification for those looking to gain accountancy related employment or for anyone requiring knowledge of bookkeeping and accounts or to formalise existing knowledge. The course has a flexible delivery and combinations of day/evening are possible. A minimum of 90% attendance is compulsory for this course.

Qualification gained: AAT Intermediate Level in Accountancy ( NVQ 3)

Course Content: This level introduces more complex accounting tasks (as compared to the Foundation Level), including preparation of final accounts for sole traders and partnerships. The students will also learn how to maintain cost accounting records and how to prepare reports and returns.

Work Experience: Employment in a related area is not necessary but an advantage. Under 19's may qualify for fees paid through the Modern Apprenticeship Scheme available through Newbury College Training Services. Call NCTS on 01635 845245 for details.

Course Assessment: There is one formal written assessment during the year for each unit, and two, three hour external exams in June

Progression: Progression to AAT Technician level - NVQ 4 Careers in accounting and finance in a variety of industries and commercial settings.

Homework: Approximately five to six hours a week. Independent study by way of homework is an essential and integral part of this course.

Additional Costs: The following costs are payable directly to AAT- Annual Membership fee 69 plus a one off Admission fee of 32. Exam fee payable in March of 2 x 41. Books are approximately 60

  • Part Time Course Fee Relate to Year 1 course fees only. Two year course fees will have an additional course fee for the second year; these fees are subject to confirmation annually.
