Course runs for 17 weeks on Thursday morning (N1111) 9.30am - 1pm (with 30 minutes break) OR Tuesdays (N1307) 6pm - 9.30pm (with 30 minutes break).

Course Details:
Mandatory Core Unit
Unit 1 Maintain day books, prepare ledger balances and extract a trial balance
Completing day books from invoices, credit notes etc., posting transactions to purchase, sales and nominal ledger accounts and extracting a trial balance.
Assessed by a 2 hour OCR examination in June.
Non-mandatory Units
Unit 2 Process ledger transactions and prepare control accounts
Day books, control accounts, reconciling ledger balances with control accounts, etc.
Unit 3 Make journal entries and adjustments and produce a trial balance
Journals, identifying different types of errors and making appropriate adjustments in order to correct errors, preparing a revised trial balance.
Each of the non-mandatory units is assessed by a 2 hour OCR set assignment at a time agreed between lecturer and students.
