Is this course right for me?

This is a computer course aimed at the complete beginner. You will learn how to use a computer and at the same time improve your spelling, reading and writing skills.

For anyone wishing to learn how to use a computer.

What will I be learning?

Students learn the basics of using a computer, recognising warning signs and symbols, responding safely to fire alarms as well as health and safety issues surrounding computers. Students will also become familiar with inputting text into a word processor.

How will I learn?

Students will work towards an NPTC Entry Level Certificate in Skills for Working Life.

What else might I want to know?

You will be assessed at the beginning of the course to provide an individual learning plan. Your progress will be monitored through this plan and your tutor will discuss your targets and goals with you.

What can I do afterwards?

Learners can progress onto Computer for Beginners (stage 2) and (stage 3) as well as Clait (OCR), Desktop Publishing, using PowerPoint and Photoshop.
