Course aims:
The course is designed to give new and existing users of Computer Aided Drawing packages to learning the industry standards of 2D drawing.
This course will suit a range of industrial and commercial applications for engineers, architects and draughts persons who wish to benefit from a firm foundation in the use of a commercial CAD package (AutoCAD).It will also suit those who have a general interest in developing their design and drafting skills.
By the end of the course you will be confident and skilled in the areas of Auto Cad 2d and will be able to draw set-up and drawing aids, work dimensions and cross-hatching, display and plotting and have a sound knowledge in health and safety.
A basic knowledge of computer use is essential but it is assumed all learners will have little or no knowledge of CAD systems and all classes are supported with full paper based and computer based support material.

- Parts and Workings of PC Workstation
- Health and Safety when operating PC Workstations
- Drawing set-up and drawing aids
- Operational efficiency including shortcut commands and templates
- Drawing and Editing
- Dimensioning and Cross Hatching
- Drawing Display and Plotting.

A fully equipped computer lab with the latest version of all recommended software is available for all learners. You will also be able to benefit from course tuition by a CAD qualified teacher and support material in both paper-based and electronic format.

Karl Salter has been teaching this course for the last three years and is a professionally trained CAD user and trainer.
