Is the course for me?
This programme will allow you to convert you Intermediate Construction Award, through a positive route to achieve an NVQ Level II Brickwork qualification.
What will I learn?
The programme is structured and delivered to satisfy the awarding body criteria for an NVQ Level II Bricklayer. You will generate evidence of the work you are involved with from the workplace - which will be assessed on your visits to the assessor. The Mandatory Units and evidence needed are: Workplace Safety, Efficient Working Practices, Move & Handle Resources, Erect Brickwork / Masonry Structures, Setting Out Buildings and an optional Unit - Concreting. Additional areas of study included in the framework are: Employment Rights & Responsibilities, Abrasive Wheels Certificate.
How will I be assessed?
Evidence from the workplace with which you are involved - by way of: Photographs / Working Drawings / Specifications / Schedules / Requisition forms / Delivery notes / Order forms / Manufacturers literature / Witness statements / Health & Safety Data sheets / Times Sheets / Site Diary, etc... Along with written descriptions for each piece of evidence
What can I do after the course?
Progression onto NVQ Level 3, pending suitability. Or, Level 3 DIPLOMA in Brickwork
