The BTEC Level 3 National Certificate is designed to equip individuals with the practical skills, knowledge and understanding required for success in current employment and for progression to future employment in a range of mechanical occupations including design, installation, operation and maintenance of complex mechanical engineering products and systems.

Develops technical appreciation and knowledge of Mechanical Engineering.

Career Prospects and Progression
The course is a work related qualification for employment and a progression route to higher national qualifications. Additionally it is a university entry level qualification. The course is equally suitable for school leavers and mature students.

Method of Assessment
The twelve units are internally assessed via tests, assignment and practical activities. The project and the communication unit are combined to form an integrated vocational assignment (IVA).
