Course Description
This two-year course is available to anyone who is employed for at least 15 hours per week under the direction of a registered pharmacist. The course will cover all aspects of pharmacy including action and uses of drugs, pharmaceutics and law & ethics as well as the science based subjects of microbiology and physiology.
The course reflects the developments that are currently being seen within pharmacy technician practice such as more clinical roles with medicines management, drug information, audit, nurse training and education, production management and quality control: many of the practitioners are involved in the teaching on the course.
Along with NVQ3, this qualification leads to registration with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain as a qualified pharmacy technician.
