About this course

Applicants must be employed and have exposure to management issues . Applicants need not be a manager but you would benefit from the support of managers within your business organisation . Evidence of studies at Level 3 such as completion of an A-level programme, NVQ Level 3, BTEC National Diploma, AVCE, or Advanced GNVQ is ideal . However, consideration will be given to applicants who can demonstrate an aptitude for learning . Mature applicants (those over 21 years of age at the start of the course) are welcomed and will be considered on an individual basis .

Business & Management Higher National Certificate
The HNC in Business and Management aims to develop knowledge and skills appropriate for those working or aspiring to work in a business environment at management levels. The course is run as a distance learning programme supported by a virtual campus Moodle, and thirty College attendance workshops. It is likely that the workshops will be run on Saturdays at intervals throughout the programme to suit the subject matter of the various units. In addition, an individual tutorial is offered for each unit.

Course Content:
The programme covers a wide range of business subjects. Emphasis is placed on applying learning to live business situations. The course equips students with a sound understanding of key business subjects and a toolkit of techniques that can be applied to a wide range of business challenges.
