Course description
The Certificate in Systems Support PC Maintainence is a good introduction to building and maintaining PCs - installing operating systems and applications, identifying parts of a computer, troubleshooting and disposing of unwanted spare parts safely. There are two units, both of which must be completed to achieve the qualification. Unit 1 covers health and safety, computer system component basics, customer care fundamentals, diagnosis, security. Unit 2 covers assembling, dismantling, installing and maintaining a desktop computer system and environmental issues (such as disposal of used parts).

Final award
City and Guilds Level 1 Certificate in IT System Support - PC Maintenance.

Career steps
Successful completion of the course leads to the Diploma in IT System Support Level 2.
