Is the course for me?
On completion of the course the candidate will be able to: Use associated IT, CAD hardware and operating systems. Use basic file management techniques and maintain health and safety requirements. Use and identify key components of the software relating to the 2D drawing environment. Use a range of viewing commands and Set up the drawing space. Use drawing commands to produce shapes. Use the CAD software's coordinate system to aid accurate drawing. Use hatch, text and simple dimensioning routines. Use basic editing commands and produce simple hard copies.

What will I learn?
An introductory course, ideal for beginners and first time users of AutoCAD. Candidates learn in an informal friendly environment developing their knowledge and skills in the use of AutoCAD. Once considered ready for assessment they undertake an appropriate test. If however, a candidate is unsuccessful in any of the tests they can retake it 7 days later.

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by completing 2 Practical assignments (2 hours, 3.5hours) and a multiple choice test (on-line) Note: on line re-sit is subject to additional fees approx £15.

What can I do after the course?
This job gives you better job prospects in the Computer Aided Engineering Market where you can then find employment or progress onto the City and Guilds Intermediate CAD 4353-02 2D Level 3.
