CARDIO PULMONARY RESUSCITATION AND AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATION

Who is this course for?

The aim of this training programme is to help people to be able to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), in the event of a cardiac arrest.

This course is suitable for anyone with no previous First Aid knowledge and for anyone interested in furthering their emergency First Aid. Over 150,000 people die from cardiac arrests in the UK each year.

"An automated external defibrillator, with a trained operator, at the site of a sudden cardiac arrest can raise the chance of survival from 5% to 80%", St John Ambulance 2006.

The course includes CPR, recovery position, heart attacks, getting to know the automated External Defibrillator (AED), how to use an AED and operating the AED. Assessment is Practical and a certificate is issued on completion.
