This is an initial teaching training course intended for people with little or no previous teaching experience. You should be educated to a standard equivalent to that required for entry into higher education (normally two A-levels and above). It is open to native and non-native speakers of English. Course Description
This is an initial qualification for people with little or no previous teaching experience and who want to teach English to Speakers of Other Languages. It is the best known and most widely taken initial TESOL/TEFL qualification of its kind in the world. It is accepted internationally by organisations which employ English Language teachers. It has also been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) at Level 4 on the National Qualifications Framework. If you plan to teach in Further, Adult or Community Education in England and Wales, it will provide you with the threshold license to practice and will allow you to progress to an ESOL Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.
It will give you a firm grounding in the fundamentals of language teaching practice, and the confidence to use these effectively in the classroom
If you are already teaching but with no formal qualifications, it will help you to improve your teaching and confirm your ability.
