The level 2 Certificate in Horticulture is aimed at candidates who wish to enter the profession or those who would like career progression within the horticulture industry. It is also ideal for those candidates who wish to develop the skills learnt from other qualifications. The course is suitable for those who would like to develop their garden design and planning skills making it relevant for both the amateur gardener and the professional horticulturalist. The course consists of four units - Site analysis and planning, Design, drawing techniques and graphics, Trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, Specialist decorative areas. Within these units the following topics will be covered - surveying a site, drawing a base plan to scale, developing concept plans, producing a final presentation plan, producing planting and construction plans, identifying and selecting suitable plants for the site. Every unit is assessed by a combination of practical and written tasks marked by your tutor and there is an externally set multiple choice test at the end of the course
